At PIP Theatre, ""Purpose In Performance"" means making an impact by telling meaningful stories, fostering creativity by providing local artists with professional performance opportunities, and broadening horizons by presenting diverse stories. We prioritize productions that explore universal themes through meaningful social messages. Our programming includes a variety of genres, favouring text-based theatre for mainhouse productions such as published plays, adaptations, and developed original works.

Additionally, we support new works and developments through our end-of-year Toucan Club festival, which features up to 20 unique productions ranging from cabaret, music, dance, and comedy to short theatre shows. We are also a venue to host play readings and development sessions throughout the year.

Our long-term goal is to build an engaged audience by offering performances that not only entertain but also inspire reflection and dialogue for social change, and become a central hub for artists to gain professional opportunities and present their work.

Our mainstage productions tend to draw an older demographic, while our festivals and shows that are presented with venue hires appeal to a younger/friends and family crowd.
