Overview
The Kingston Butter Factory (KBF) venue is situated on a three-hectare site centred around the remodelled and retrofitted 1930s butter factory, from which the venue gets its name. Located in Kingston, in the City of Logan, Queensland, it is 30 minutes south of the Brisbane CBD and 45 minutes north of the Gold Coast.
The venue is owned and operated by Logan City Council as an arts and cultural precinct. The precinct includes a renovated butter factory building that now houses the Butterbox Theatre where intimate live performances are held with a max capacity of 220; the Living Museum of Logan which is a modern social history museum; a heritage centre and café. There’s also a large outdoor stage where events such as music concerts and cultural performances are held with varied capacity.
The venue runs an annual program of events but is also available for hire for commercial and community enterprises.
